About Deske SMS
Deske helps independent practices send appointment-related text messages to their contacts. Texts are sent from a Twilio-provisioned local phone number assigned to the practice.
Message frequency
Frequency varies depending on the practice's appointment volume and which automations they have enabled. Typical messages include appointment confirmations, reminders, and follow-ups.
Message and data rates
Standard message and data rates may apply, set by your mobile carrier.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any message from a Deske-powered practice number to opt out of all texts from that practice. Your carrier delivers the opt-out automatically.

Reply HELP to receive a short instruction message and our support address.
Consent
Practices must obtain consent from contacts before sending automated SMS via Deske.
Content defaults
Default Deske notifications avoid sensitive health detail. Practices configuring custom message templates are responsible for ensuring appropriate content. See our HIPAA & BAA status for current guidance on PHI.
When SMS may not be available
US carriers require A2P 10DLC registration and business verification before SMS can route. Until your practice's registration clears (typically 1–3 business days), Deske may fall back to email confirmations.
