Common questions

The worries we hear most.

Will my customers know they're talking to an AI?
Yes. The agent introduces itself as "your virtual receptionist" and offers to transfer to a human or take a callback message at any point. We don't pretend.
What about HIPAA and patient privacy?
Straight answer: Deske is not a HIPAA-covered entity today and we do not currently sign BAAs. We don't store patient health information — Deske is built for scheduling and front-office workflows, so we keep the data surface narrow on purpose. Calls are encrypted in transit and at rest, each account's data is isolated, and you can delete on request. SOC 2 + BAA-eligible posture is on the roadmap. What if it gets a question wrong?
You see every transcript in your inbox, flagged when the AI was unsure. Correct it once and the agent learns. For anything ambiguous, it offers to take a message and have you call back.
Do I have to forward my existing line?
No. You can use our number standalone (we give you one in your area code), or forward an existing line just for after-hours, weekends, or all the time. Three options, your choice.
How long is the contract?
Month to month. Cancel anytime in your settings. We don't lock you in.
What if it can't handle a call?
It transfers to a human you specify, or takes a message and texts you immediately. You decide the rules, by time of day, by topic, by caller status. Defaults work out of the box.
